AI trading and futures automation: what actually works

Search for AI trading bots and you will find promises of effortless profit. The reality is simpler: the bots that last are transparent rule sets with strict risk limits. AI is most useful as a coach, not as a black box.

How the automation chain works

  • The MFT Pine Script runs on your TradingView charts and detects setups.
  • TradingView sends a webhook alert with entry, stop and targets.
  • MFT checks your filters: markets, news blackout, open positions, NQ/ES correlation, profit target.
  • Accepted entries go to your own TradersPost URL, which places the order at your broker.
  • Follow-ups move the stop to break even and take partials or close the trade.

Where AI fits: Trading Buddy

Trading Buddy is MFT's AI copilot in the dashboard. It briefs you on today's levels and news, explains why a setup is valid or not, and answers questions in any language. It does not invent trades — the models do. That keeps it a mentor, not a gamble.

Is automation a trading mentor?

A good mentor enforces rules you would otherwise break. Automation does exactly that: it never revenge trades, never trades through red news and never forgets to flatten before the close.

Stay safe

  • Never give anyone your broker password.
  • Start on micro contracts or a prop evaluation.
  • Judge a system on 30–50+ logged trades, not one great day.
  • Past results never guarantee future returns.

Common questions

Do AI trading bots work?

Some rule-based systems can, but no bot guarantees profit. Prefer transparent rules and published, logged results.

Is automated futures trading allowed on prop firms?

Most futures prop firms allow automation of your own strategy. Always confirm the firm's current rules.

What is TradersPost?

A service that turns TradingView webhook alerts into broker orders. MFT sends signals to your own TradersPost account.
