Scanner model
ES, GC.Turtle Soup
The original stop-raid model: price breaks a recent 20-bar high or low, fails to hold and closes back inside. You trade the failure. It is conceptually identical to a liquidity sweep but framed around a fixed lookback, which makes it easy to spot without drawing anything.
Why it works
Breakout traders provide the liquidity that reversal traders need.
Timeframes
5m to 1H.
Session
All.
The checklist
- 1A 20-bar high or low is exceeded.
- 2The bar closes back inside the prior range.
- 3Momentum stalls immediately.
Execution
Entry
On the close back inside, or on a 1m structure shift.
Stop
Beyond the failed breakout extreme.
Target
The mid or opposite side of the range.
When you should not take it
- Do not use it in a strongly trending market with expanding range.
